Imagine a search robot (bot) doing an unattended auto search scouring for random keywords and earning credit points for those fake search.

Based on Alexa traffic ranking, Scour traffic has been picking up since mid July even though it is still in Beta mode. What does that tell us ? Scour membership is on the increase. Everyone is attempting to earn some dimes and nickels from Scour.

And with all new program, Scour will too fall under cheaters traps if they do not improve their security and anti-cheats procedures.




Some greedy members (or actually smart members) will attempt to cheat Scour by earning the maximum points in the shortest time possible. How would they do that ? Similar to the plague affecting the paid-to-click program, someone would code a script to automatically perform a search on Scour and earning credit points without them typing the words. Hand free all the way ! That is called "auto search" and unattended. The keywords would probably just a random combination of words and embedded in their search list.

If the search script can cheat Scour search engine, Scour will end up paying members who use a search bot for fake searches and that will deprive other members of funds.

Let's see is Scour improve their program security in the coming week. The least I expect is for them to install a CAPTCHA input to be activated randomly during searches. That would deter search bot temporarily.

Note: Auto search, search bot, unattended search script or auto-pilot search are cheating and illegals. Using those may get you in hot soup and on the wrong side of the laws.
